One minute we are residing in the security of bliss, questioning nothing, living in the acceptance of a reality presented through the eyes of innocence, only to be catapulted into a world full of questions that can offer no substitute for the lost sense of belonging. A world of integrity becomes a solar system of differences, a multiversity of such complexity, that we are cowered into a submission of self consciousness, lacking any form of relationship to the wonders of perception. Time and again we are confronted with surmounting evidence, confirming our inability to be one with a world outside of our comprehension. Repeated episodes of failure, determined through the judgment of so called Peers and a system of worth based upon performance. How are we to know of ourselves when our knowledge of being is based upon an expectation and acceptance of failure? Who is there to tell us otherwise? Who or what can we turn to for comfort in our world of incompatibility? What is to be trusted, other than our belief in doubt? Fear takes hold of our resolve and reduces us to victims of circumstance. We disregard any indication of empowerment; we deny any knowledge of responsibility or creative capability. We surrender to the will of Fate. A fate of suffering and sacrifice, in which we play the only role open to us. A role in which we decline any hope of happiness, health or success and succumb to an eternal feeling of emptiness. An emptiness that we seek to fill with the substitutes offered by a society skilled in the game of “quick fixes” and distraction. Short term oblivion replaces long term solutions. Compromise becomes the name of the day, an excuse for a life that is anything other than optimal. But yet we have no choice other than to reside in the valleys of shadows cast by the blinding light of a sun that is way beyond our field of vision.

What does all this mean for you and me?

Does it mean that we continue to wear sunglasses that are so strong that we can no longer perceive the possibilities of creation within the spectrum of human being? Does it mean that we are to continue with our insistence upon an understanding of life that disables any moves in the direction of self-responsibility?

If we are satisfied, or should I say happy, with the mediocre existence that many of us choose, as the expression of a miracle, then yes, we can continue to wear the “filtered glasses” that “protect” us from the rays of brilliance and genius that others among us present as an alternative to mediocrity. Does it mean that a vast majority of us have lost touch with the inner-sense with which we are born? Does it mean that through our experiences of inadequacy we have learned to believe that we, as a race and as such as individuals are inherently inadequate, incapable of living a life of fulfillment, abundance and happiness? Yes, it does! We have learned to deny all possibility of “living a dream”. We have learned to build houses with very thick walls to keep out the evil that lurks in the darkness of the unknown. We have built cages in our minds to restrict our freedom of movement. We have developed pictures of life that are full of fear. A fear that can be understood as a fear of death, this, in turn, could also be understood as a fear of a life other than that which we believe to be “real”. And yet, as long as we can get by, we do exactly that, we get by. Reprimanding ourselves for wanting more, instead of being thankful for what we have, we continue to still any feelings of passion, afraid of the consequences that we associate with failure with Failure being a concept unto itself.

He was a lost soul that just didn’t know he was lost. He thought, no, he was convinced that he had everything under control. He thought, he knew what he wanted, he even thought he knew how he was going to get what he wanted. Strangely enough, things didn’t seem to be in agreement with his thinking. He wanted so much and yet, he felt as if he had nothing and then again there were times when, he felt as if he had everything but in, so called reality, he had very little, barely enough to get by. One thing he did have though was the ability to dream big dreams. Unfortunately, however, the dreams insisted upon staying put, in the land of dreams. And yet somehow, he always managed to find the food to keep his dreams alive, even when he had nothing, he fed his dreams, kept them breathing, kept them growing. He lived to dream of living. What would become of him? Would he ever find the key to the lid of his own treasure chest? What must he do, where must he go? Time and again, he asked himself whether he should give up dreaming and get a real job. Everybody else was pretty much convinced that he was a “just a dreamer” with no chance of becoming anything else. But yet, this feeling, this knowing that he was right, that he would in good time, find the missing piece, if there was a missing piece. More so, he was convinced that it was just a matter of time and perseverance, believing beyond belief, in the purpose of his being. Believing in the goodness of life; believing the truth within each and every one of us, the truth in all that is. Believing in the truth that we call Life. Yes, he would, with time, live the dream.

Time and time again he was confronted with the enemy of his dreams; despair, surrender, so called normality and death. Time and time again he fought the demons of Doom to exhaustion, barely able to breathe; he upheld the banner of his liege, his dreams, defying the ghouls of captivity he continued to fly in his freedom, not realizing his own cage, he denied himself the acceptance that he so longed for, in his dreams.

What do we mean by growing up? Is it a process in which we follow a predetermined path, the direction of which being set in stone by our predecessors? Is it a process of learning to do what others before us have done and in doing so declaring their truth to be “the way?” If that were the case, the question to be asked is whether we would be here at all. How do we grow up, if at all? Is it purely a matter of getting older? Very often we hear people speak of responsibility, when referring to growing up. Perhaps there is more to this than originally meets the eye. If growing up entails finding one’s own way, we have to realize that we initially have no means of differentiating between that which we perceive happening around us and our way, meaning that we learn from what others show us, not only through conscious choice but through unconscious behavior. We lack the skills of recognition and choice. We do not recognize that our way is a reproduction of our peers and social surroundings therefore denying us the choice of behavior. As we move through life we experience that which we have learned to expect. Through unconscious behavior we develop conscious expectations which, of course, we confirm through our unconscious behavior. And so, we write our own stories, more or less, unconsciously, repeatedly confirming the ideas that we, as children, were shown. I’m sure you’ve heard the saying; “same shit, different day”, well, that pretty much sums it up. What if you were to take the time to reflect over your life experiences, would you be able to recognize the pattern that you have lived, up until now? Are there certain things that appear to have happened time and again, do you make the same so called mistakes over and over again? Is there something or a theme in your life that is seemingly ever present, in one way or another?

It can be related to anything; relationships, health or wealth. The majority of us have a theme in one or more of the aforementioned areas in life, or so it may seem. When we, however, cut through the superficial wrappings, we can identify the cause as unconscious behavior based upon conscious expectations that, in turn, stem from an unconscious, conditioned belief.

Perhaps you would like to take the time to ask yourself, whether there is something in your life, that exerts an over powering drain on your resources, at regular or irregular intervals. Perhaps you would like to do it right now. You might, on the other hand, decide to leave it until later, which is, of course, what you have always done, which, of course, has led to the results that you currently experience, in your day to day existence.

I’m sure that you have heard it said; there is no time like the present, well, this is all about your time, isn’t it? It’s about your present and how you live your present. I could also ask, if you want your present and just how thankful are you, for your present? Are you so thankful that the only appropriate expression of thankfulness would be to make the most of what and who you are? Just supposing that you are thankful, wouldn’t you owe it to yourself and your world, to take the time and energy to consciously reflect upon your way of life, to determine whether it really is your way of life or that of another or others?

What have you learned in your life, what is really important to you and you alone and do you act or behave accordingly? If not, why not? What must happen for you to be true to yourself and your present? Is this growing up, is this taking steps to transcend the adopted fears and beliefs of others, to find your own? Perhaps in finding our own beliefs, we could also transcend our own personal fears, which, of course, are rooted in a perception of life, which is seen through the eyes of unconsciousness. Is growing up about accepting that the “feedback” of life is not personal but relevant to behavior, based upon belief? That being the case, what can we do to promote the process of growing up? Is there any way of accelerating the experience of recognition of self and system, the system, of course, being life? Perhaps if we understand the full implications and potential of our experiences, we might just be able to speed up

the learning that is deemed necessary for the acceptance of conscious being.

Perhaps if we decide to accept the necessity of self-responsibility, as a prerequisite for definitive growth, we can make definite steps in the direction of success, whatever that might be. Let us take time to ask ourselves what we actually mean by self- responsible. What if we mean the full acceptance of self as the source for and of experience?

Are we able to let it be? Are we capable of realizing that our inner-sense is the determinate factor for our experience? What if we were to understand that it is entirely upon each and every one of us to accept our inherent gift of creation before we can feel the creation itself? This question of responsibility is, to my mind, the most decisive factor for personal success, we have been given the gift of conscious being, it us our decision what we do with it. Self-response-ability could be the ability to respond to self, the ability to answer my own questions of being and to live accordingly. What is the conception that leads to perception? Where does it all start and where does it lead to? You decide!

So, what do you believe of yourself, what do believe of Life itself? What do you want to believe of yourself and Life? What do you want to be in Life, what do you want Life to be?

A Story begins.

A young boy cries in utter confusion as he witnesses his parents as they deny all that he has ever believed in. Total confusion, reigns throughout his entire being as he desperately tries to make sense of the film of which he has inadvertently become an integral part as well as a distant observer.

A world dies; a world of belief disintegrates as the tears of emptiness flow into the fullness of pain and despair.

Please, stop. Mum, Dad, stop. Stop.

Without recognition, the boy watches as his parents travel further along the path of misunderstanding, anger and fear. Where is the love? Where is the love?

Once more he pleads with the strangers before him, to stop this act of violence and screams his promise of sacrifice;

if you don’t stop I will kill myself!

No response whatsoever, the promise goes unheard by his parents as they lose themselves to their own madness. Unable to withstand any further rejection, he runs into the kitchen, grabs the fifteen centimeter kitchen knife from the worktop and running past his lost guardians, seeks the familiarity of his bedroom that he shares with his younger brother. Looking out the bedroom window into a world, which is no longer his home, he raises the knife with the blade aimed at his stomach.

At that moment the father takes hold of the boys arm, freeing him of the knife and holding him to his chest telling him that everything is going to be alright.

The fighting stopped. The parents no longer argued, they separated and eventually divorced.

A story begins. A search for lost understanding

Yes, every story has its beginning. Can you remember how your story began? Can you remember when you moved out of the paradise of unconditional belonging, into a world of conditional conditioning?

Yes, what if?

What if we were to look deep into our eyes and real-eyes who and what we truly are?

What if we were to open our eyes to the potential and possibilities that are within us, just waiting to be realeyesed?

What if we were to fulfil that potential and experience those possibilities?

What if we were to know that there is no time other than the present, your present. The present, which you have been given as well as the present that you give to your world?

What if we were to know that everything we do can only be right, now?

Yes, what if?

We all know that to achieve that which we perceive to be right; we have to do that which we perceive to be right. As you and I know, it can sometimes be such a challenge, knowing that we are right. Am I right?

THE WAY TO DO IS TO BE! Lao Tse

Perhaps the question to be asked is whether or not we are aware of what we are doing and why we are doing whatever it is that we are doing. Are you aware? Are you right?

LIVING 100% WITHIN PREVENTS A LIFE WITHOUT! Steve Potticary

When was the last time that you took stock of what you believe to be right? What YOU really believe to be right for you. Deep inside, perhaps, you have an answer, just waiting for a chance to experience the light of day which, however has been denied due to the curtains remaining firmly drawn, preventing any energy whatsoever permeating the stuff of dreams. Just perhaps!

What if you were to open the curtains, allowing your dreams of happiness to see the light of day, what would your happiness look like?

Well, after all is said and done, is it not happiness that lies at the end of our rainbows, is it not happiness that we seek in all we do and say? Yes, a word that promises so much and yet, at times is so elusive. Just look around you, right now, do you see happiness? Look inside, do you feel happiness?

The only place, in which you can find yourself and your happiness, is where you are. Steve Potticary

And yes, this life, your life is about you and your expression of everything you believe in. And yes, if your idea of life or beliefs do not foresee happiness as a constant in your daily routine, you will not be in any position to experience that happiness, so, what if you were to suspend your beliefs for just a week or two and respond to everything you experience with a smile and an understanding that allows you to be happy? What if you were to consciously make yourself happy for those two weeks? What if you were to view living as more than reason enough to be happy?
